Costumes
As a lover of film, tv, and pop culture I've always had an appreciation for iconic fashion. As children, my sister and I took dressing-up very seriously. Our parents diy'd a lot of our Halloween costumes, and the process of making something new for such a specific purpose always felt special to me (we wore our puff paint t-shirt witch costumes 3 years in a row). More currently, I have loved the idea of cosplaying significant pop culture moments. The concept of a costume feels much more personal to me, as if I finally have this opportunity to recreate something that I love or was such a significant part in forming my identity. Therefore, I wouldn't be making the costume if I didn't have such a deep love for who or what I am portraying. Beginning in 2021, I have strived to make a costume for every week of October in celebration of Halloween. Here is the ongoing collection of costumes I've made, both for Halloween and for fun.
